I'd have to say, any peace wanting song from the Beatles, mostly 'Across the Universe' and 'All You Need Is Love'. I mean, the peacey songs that were inspired by their trip (IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE :DD HURR HURR acid) to India are the best, really. OH and I rove the Beatles.

Nice choices India!
"Across the Universe" is actually one of my personal favorites. Second only to "A Day in the Life".
.........................................................................................................
This has inspired me to find a Beatles song to describe the USA. An apparently difficult task. Perhaps its too British or something? Joking... But, hey, I've got time and post-space to waste.
Some of the Failed Song Considerations:
Let It Be could have been our song. But no. Maybe later. In the best possible Futures.
A Fool on the Hill. Meh. Maybe...but not quite. I thought of it because of the general stereotype that we're out of it and sort of stupid. But....why stick with the stereotype?
I Am A Walrus just because I love that song, but it doesn't seem to be desribing much of anything...XD, and if anything, more like a drug trip, not a country.
Twist In Shout. In truth, I only thought of this one because it was in Ferris Buler's Day Off. The dancing scene in that movie is a Chicago moment right there. Community, united in random happiness and parades. Well, the sunny side of Chicago, anyways. Reality is a bit different. But still.
Nowhere Man. I thought of it because I must have an inner pessimist. But it's not true! *blocks out negative thoughts* Plus, "doesn't have a point of view" is about as far as it gets from the reality here.
A Day in the Life. I had to consider it. Just because it's my favorite. But, really, with all the culture-specific references it is closer to being a song of Britian than of the US. Which makes sense, considering the Beatles are British.
Still...none of these actually work, in my opinion. That.....was a lot of time and typing to not have an answer. Oh well. So, maybe we don't have a Beatles song yet. We aspire to be a Beatles song though! ;D A good one...like Let it Be. Those would have been some damn good words of wisdom, "Let it Be".

Various random lines from songs in the Fischerspooner album, "Odyssey". Not usually entire songs, but bits and pieces of different lines make up what the nation would be if you think very cynically about things.
EX: from the song, "Get Confused":
"Will I have to start all over? Yes I will Had I the right to make those statements? Yes I had Shall I meet with opposition? Did I justify my actions? Have I forgotten what the question was? Yes I have I take the trouble, I take the time I get the feeling that Im doing whats right I may be reckless, maybe a fool"
EX: from the song, "We Need A War"
"We need a war (if we think we need a war) A war to make us feel safe, a war to make them feel sorry, whoever they are."
....
So, overall, a picture of our national politics at its worst and most paradoxical.
