THANK YOU, so much, for creating this topic, as it is definatly something which needs to be discussed, and has been concerning me for quite some time now.
1. Do you think optimistic or pessimistic of this? Why?
At first, I was extremely pessimistic. Number one: because not only was this a horrible impending-doom sort of scenario, but I felt at the time (and still sort of think), that the whole thing would me my (the United States') fault due to our botched efforts in the Korean War, and subsequent diplomacy fails. BUT. Now, I am more optimistic that a war is not eminent. The problem definatly still exists, and I would say it is such an unstable situation that it must be resolved, on way or another, by the end of this next decade.
In terms of who would win, personally, I could be at my most pessmistic and still think all the allies which would fight together agaisnt any violent and nuclear North Korea would prevail. .
2. Is there a better resolution to this? Do tell if there is.
YES THERE IS. There's always a better way. #1 if Mrs. Clinton and our other diplomats can calm things down, #2 South Korea can also help with the diplomacy effort, #3 the World has to back controling North Korea, or else they won't feel enough pressure on them and will become even bolder.
Other solution would be to kill all of them before they can get us, but I don't like that one.
CIA could... do something...I suppose they already are. Really, I cannot even hope to formulate a viable plan without access to whatever information the government has that I do not. But I'm sure there is another way besides war.
3. Other thoughts about this potential war?
If anyone gets nuked. ANYONE. Even countries I do not particularly like, I am certain the United States will defend you. Not sure if this is a good thing, but it is likely true.
